Richard Novodomec – Interview

Richard Novodomec, forward of the 2023/2024 champion (UMB Hockey Team), made it to the All-Star lineup.

How do you view the entire season and the play-offs from an individual and collective point of view?

Season ended in the best way possible. We won our third title and it was our team´s 10th anniversary. We were having some rough times during our season but in the end it made us stronger and we all pulled for our main goal. We had a really good group of guys. From experienced guys to new rookies. I´m glad new guys felt the UMB Family atmosphere and we got the trophy. Individually, season was all good for me. The only thing that makes me sad is „Migel“ (Erik Smolka) had more points than me, again. (smile)

Did you expect to find yourself in the All-Star lineup of the European University Hockey League?

I honestly forgot about individual awards. Lot of guys deserved to be in All Stars from our team and other teams as well. Personally, I think Stetson from Sapientia is missing there, but it was not my decision.

What are your ambitions as of the captain of the UMB Hockey Team for the next season?

We are not shy about our ambitions at UMB Hockey Team and we always want to win trophies. Everything else is disappointment. I feel all of our guys felt that winnig feeling and we will like to do it again. I will try to help new guys and be supportive for our team wheter I will play or not.
