Benedek Madácsi – Interview

How do you view the entire season of the European University Hockey League (EUHL) from an individual and collective point of view?

I believe that the EUHL is a great-quality league. As a newly joined team, we had no clear expectations about the champsionship, therefore we beat ourselves in the first couple of games, which cost us valuable points and resulted in us not making it to the play-offs. At the same time, I was really glad that the EUHL and Széchenyi University provided us with this opportunity to play in an international league. From indiviadual point of view, I would consider this as a successful season as I was able to help my team with my performance, however I am dissappointed that we were not able to participate in the play-offs.

Did you expect to find yourself in the All-Star lineup of the European University Hockey League?

I was not really expecting it since we were not able to really achieve success as a team so it was a bit of a surprise for me, but I’m very grateful for the special recognition and it can give me extra strength and motivation for the next year.

What are your ambitions for the UNI GYŐR ETO HC in the next season?

Hopefully, the team will improve on the previous year and now, with some experience behind, the team can have a more successful season and make it to the play-offs this time. If I am part of the team, I will try my best to help the team reach these achievements.
